![]() ![]() He was also the god of agriculture (an appropriate companion for Ceres) and was traditionally accompanied by satyrs and maenads (dancing nymphs). They may be followers of Bacchus, the god of wine and festivity, which would explain the leopard in the foreground: Bacchus’ chariot was pulled by leopards. The role of the two women on the left is less certain. The putto holds an olive wreath, another reference to peace. Just above the head of Pax, another putto carries a caduceus (a short staff with two entwined snakes), an attribute of the messenger god Mercury, whose associations included the ideals of fair exchange and reciprocation in negotiation. The boy holding the torch is probably intended as the god of marriage, Hymen. They suggest both the innocence of youth and the hopes of future generations. With the help of a satyr and a putto, she shares her bounty, a cornucopia of the fruits of the earth, with the group of children in the foreground. She feeds the child Plutus, god of wealth, with milk from her breast. The woman in the centre represents Pax (Peace), but Rubens seems to have also given her the qualities of Ceres, goddess of the earth. ![]() To understand Rubens’s agenda we have to identify the figures – a combination of mythological beings, Roman gods and real people – and what they stand for. The message is in allegorical form: the figures in the painting personify different emotions, virtues or other abstract concepts, and there is a clear moral narrative. Charles was an enthusiastic art collector, and with this painting Rubens was both appealing to his connoisseurship and delivering a diplomatic message. The two countries had been at war for five years and both sides were keen for a peace deal. The most famous artist in the world at the time, Rubens was also a skilled negotiator and he had come to London as more than just a painter – he was an envoy of Philip IV of Spain. This picture was made for King Charles I of England and given to him by Rubens in 1630. ![]() ![]() ![]() How they are still in business in beyond me. Last night's concert experience was a nightmare. Went to a concert here about 10 years ago and had a wonderful experience. I would never want to go back here again. What a disappointment! We go to many concerts and sporting events so we get crowds and traffic but this was ridiculous. So just wanted to warn people that this could end in something way more serious than my injuries or even the guy who face planted who honestly was probably saved by the helmet he knew to wear. I even heard a guy had a helmet on while tubing today and when he face planted, the helmet split in half. Camelback mountain did not have these issues so I know it’s carelessness. First aid was great but otherwise I just feel this place is poorly maintained especially when it comes to their safety. They asked if I needed a medic I said I don’t think so I’m not sure but definitely a bandaid for my nail that was bleeding from being split in half and no one aided me! I walked myself to first aid. Not to mention I was asked if I was okay I said no. (shoulder area) I don’t recommend this place what so ever. I also broke my nail in the center of the nail bed and left upper body is extremely sore. As I came down the mountain on my tube the mats that are made to help you slow down weren’t flat and as my tube hit the mat, I flew off the tube and hit the back of my head so hard the EMT in first aid is unsure if I actually have a concussion. ![]() I get accidents happen especially when someone’s choosing to be wreckless, but no, this place is just not built safe. The tubing was so unprofessional, ran by kids, but also whoever owns this place did not assure safety. I thought this would’ve been a good time because the day prior we went to camelback mountain and snow tubed and it was great. Which as most are traveling a far distance to this mountain, is impossible to comply with. Also, a refund is impossible as they want you to have an hour in person sit down with the general manager. So idk why he mentioned this as no one was measuring anyone. The “supervisor” I spoke to stated they measure everyone at the mountain. And after reading the other reviews posted I’m glad we didn’t choose to ignore our gut and listen to their staff (who are basically teens with no idea what their own policies are or seem to care) because as other reviews state, MANY people have been hurt on this mountain. They’re unsafe, oversell tickets, and have zero concern for their patrons. I would never come to back to this place or recommend anyone to come here. I spoke with customer service who gave me a gift card but why would I come back to a mountain who has zero concern for their customers safety. ![]() The fact they were going to allow a child who didn’t meet their OWN height requirements to tube anyway is unsafe and concerning. They oversold tickets and didn’t have enough tubes to accommodate everyone but regardless. After reading other reviews this company clearly has unsafe tubing conditions and many injuries have been reported. We didn’t feel safe for our daughter and I’m glad we trusted our gut. They also told the family behind us their ONE year old had to go down alone and it was fine. Clearly it would be unsafe for her to go down alone as she would not be able to drag her feet to stop. Mind you this is as they were telling others to drag their feet at the end of the hill to stop. After standing in line for 45 minutes, because they clearly sold more tickets than they could provide tubes for, we were told that our 3 year old would need to go down the hill alone. Was told by staff that it was fine and she’d be able to go down with us. Got to the snow tubing area and was told the kiddie mountain was closed, we were concerned because we had a 3 year old who doesn’t meet the height requirements for adults tubing based on the mountains OWN policy. After waiting another 20 minutes, we gave up and Eventually received our tickets via the kiosk. We arrived early and We’re told they were at capacity and we needed to go to customer service. Arrived at montage mountain with tickets purchased online. ![]() ![]() Rooms can be designed to look like real places and landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and Times Square, or a player can make an original area like a park, a pool, or a seemingly endless hallway where pink glittery hearts will cascade on loop. ![]() You can also see if the room is at capacity, and most cap at 10 people. The hairstyles came in natural colors as well as neon pinks, reds, blues, and purples. Maneuvering the character while designing was clunky, and it was difficult to see what hairstyles and accessories like earrings looked like from the side because the character focuses on the user during the turn instead of looking straight ahead. Still, it’s definitely not a bad way to watch the show. After all, it’s built around mystery and betrayal – and watching the episodes in the order they happened certainly removes some of the mystery. Watching Kaleidoscope in chronological order it is probably not the best way to experience its story. So, let’s take a look at how to watch Kaleidoscope in chronological order… Kaleidoscope Chronological Order And it’s a great option for a second viewing. Of course, watching the show chronologically will give you the most straightforward understanding of events. And that’s left people asking about watching Kaleidoscope in chronological order (that is, in the order they actually happened). Despite Netflix giving each person a pre-set order to watch the series, viewers can alternatively view it in any order they choose. ![]() However, the option is there for viewers to take the events of Kaleidoscope into their own hands. And that means everyone will have an alternative perspective on the series’ events and characters. Most interestingly, each viewer will see Kaleidoscope in a different order. Despite being a tale with a clear beginning, middle, and end, the show’s episodes can be viewed in any order while still telling a coherent story. While its plot is a fairly standard (but nonetheless engaging) heist-based affair, Kaleidoscope‘s true uniqueness comes from its distinctive episode delivery. However, they must overcome betrayal, conflict, the FBI, and an old nemesis to get away with the money. Kaleidoscope follows professional thief Ray AKA Leo Pap (Giancarlo Esposito) as he and his crew orchestrate an elaborate heist to steal $7 billion from three of the wealthiest individuals in the world. Eric Garcia’s new Netflix heist drama series looks to start 2023 with a dose of ingenuity and creativity as it explores what happens when a TV crime series can be viewed in any order. Kaleidoscope could well be the most unique viewing experience in Netflix history. In English this is what we generally think of when we think of past tense, as in the sentence “I opened the box.” For more on how to use the Spanish preterite, see this guide. The preterite refers to an action that has been completed in the past. abanĮx: Hablar –> Habl -ar (to talk/speak) yo habl aba nosotros habl ábamos tú habl abas vosotros habl abais él, ella, Ud. aba nosotros -ábamos vosotros -abais ellos/ellas/Uds. Yo hablo (simple present) Person Present Ending yo -o tú -as él/ella/Ud. This is not the case with the Spanish simple present. In English, the simple present often has an implied regularity or habitual connotation to it. ![]() English often uses the present continuous (example below with hablar) instead of the simple present, so you’ll end up using the simple present a lot more often in Spanish than you do in English. To talk about something being done presently, drop the -ar and add one of these endings. You’ll see an exception to this rule in the simple future, where you only need to add the ending to the intact infinitive.įind out how Conjugation Rules for Regular -ar Verbs Simple Present Tense Endings Simply put, to conjugate an -ar verb, drop the -ar and add the appropriate ending according to the person and tense.įor example, in the present tense you add -o, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, or -an to the remaining stem after removing -ar. ![]() The stem, or raíz (literally “root” in Spanish), is the part that occurs before the -ar, -ir, or -er. This is where conjugation comes in.įor regular verbs, the infinitive lends its stem to its conjugated forms in a predictable way. The equivalent meaning in English is the same as “to ,” so “ amar” translates to “to love.”Įxcept when stacking two verbs together (“I ” / “Me ”), the infinitive form needs to change to express the who and when. You can spot them easily in Spanish because they retain their original ending of -ar, -ir, or -er. The infinitive ( infinitivo) form of a verb is its most basic form. Both English and Spanish have a lot of irregular verbs which simply need to be memorized, but learning the rule for regular verbs makes conjugation much easier.īeing exposed to verbs in context (rather than just in a chart) is also crucial to becoming comfortable using them – not to mention it’s more fun! While learning Spanish online with Lingvist, you will encounter verbs in context, as well as look over grammar tips to clarify concepts explicitly as needed. In most cases (apart from irregular verbs), the English past tense is formed by adding -ed to the word. Person (Singular) Present tense Past tense First person I walk I walked Second person You walk You walked Third person He/She walks He/She walked Most verbs only change in the third person singular (see below) in English, but all verbs change to distinguish when something occurs. Though native speakers may not notice it, English verbs also change depending on who performed the action and when it occurred. For more on the different person categories and personal pronouns in Spanish, see this guide. Spanish uses one extra “person” category that corresponds to addressing “you all / you guys” in English. The form of a verb changes to show who perpetrated the action (“the person”) and when it occurred (“the tense”). Verbs that end in -ar are the most common, so memorizing their conjugations are a great place to start. Each of these verb categories has specific rules governing how they change to express layers of crucial information about the situation. All Spanish verbs end in either -ar, -er, or -ir. ![]() |
